Three Ways to Get Ready for Upcoming Literacy Night & Bookfair!

Access Books

This year Kenter Canyon will once again partner with Access Books to help an LAUSD school renovate their school and classroom libraries. We have been paired up with Stonehurst Ave. STEAM Magnet in Sun Valley this year. On Saturday, October 3rd, Kenter Canyon students, families, and alumni are invited to come and help create a warm, welcoming library space for the students at Stonehurst. The event will run from 8:15 AM until approximately 1:00 PM. We hope to see lots of Coyotes there to help, even if you cannot attend the entire time. Books donated through our "Love A Book, Share A Book" book drive will help stock the shelves of the classroom libraries at Stonehurst. Please RSVP using this link: RSVP HERE. Any questions, please reach out to Mr. Gabel via email at [email protected].

"Love A Book, Share A Book" Book Drive
In conjunction with our Access Books event, Kenter Coyotes are asked to bring in one, gently loved book to donate to the classrooms at Stonehurst Ave. STEAM Magnet. Books will be collected between September 28th and October 2nd in classrooms. Books can be any genre and any grade, TK-5. The goal is that every Coyote will donate one book that they love to share with a fellow student.

2026 Read-a-Thon
The Read-a-Thon is back! To celebrate the fall book fair and Literacy Night, students are invited to register and participate in this year's Read-a-Thon. Flyers with registration information were sent home this week. Register now and start fundraising with family and friends. While you can begin collecting donations now, the Read-a-Thon itself will take place between Monday, October 5th and Friday, October 9th. Get ready to log those minutes and help raise money for Kenter Canyon. The classes in grades TK-2 and grades 3-5 with the most minutes read, and the most money raised will receive a popsicle party! The Read-a-Thon is a great way to celebrate our love of reading as a community. Get ready, get set, READ!
