2024/2025 PSG Board and Chair Open Positions


These opportunities are available for the 24/25 school year and are an amazing way to get to know your teachers and staff across the entire Kenter Community.  


Annual Giving (Board position): 

We are looking for a shadow to learn about the AG campaign– Kenter’s biggest fundraiser of the year. This person will help support the AG campaign by soliciting donations from the Kenter community.  Train to use DonorView our fundraising software, help HRPs coordinate class and grade level dinners, navigate tax letters, and corporate matching as well as following up with the Kenter Community to encourage donations.


Treasurer (Board position):

Our Treasurer is looking for a shadow to learn the position which oversees the PSG budget. Responds to check requests for reimbursement, makes deposits and balances bank accounts. In the Spring, the Treasurer participates in Kenter’s budgeting process with the PSG President.  Prepares PSG budget for board discussion and community approval. 


STAR Liaison (Board position):

You will have the opportunity to shadow and  participate in the administration of enrichment and teachers and aides. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in HR or employee administration.  This position will attend monthly PSG Board and General Meetings as well as school administrative meetings to support in the hiring and onboarding of aides and staff.  This position will work closely with the Star Nova enrichment Chair.


Corporate Matching (Chair):

The Corporate Match Chair is responsible for managing the corporate matching gift program. This role involves identifying potential corporate partners, facilitating employee matching donations, and ensuring the organization maximizes its fundraising potential through corporate matching gifts.  You can work on your own timing between August and December and will support the Annual Giving team. 


Home Room Parent Chair (HRPC): 

We are looking for a positive and solutions oriented Kenter community member to support HRPs for the 24/25 school year.  Ideally this is a former HRP.  The HRPC will work with Pres, VP, Communications and Fundraising Board positions to help navigate community events and questions throughout the year.  This person will help to facilitate the HRP kick off meeting and serve as a positive resource for the HRPs and the community.  This chair will be expected to share all messages requested with the HRPs not limited to Annual Giving, Fundraising, Valet, Field Trips and all communication needs.  Looking for an organized, and positive communicator with strong attention to detail. This position requires 1-2 hours per week.


Hospitality Chair: 

Helps Hospitality Director organize catering and decorations for Back to School (August 11), Holiday (Dec) and End of Year (June) giving for Faculty and Staff, Teacher Appreciation Week (May). Organizes sign-up genius to solicit volunteer support and donated items (w/ fundraising collaboration). This person loves events and is willing to support the staff and administration for the benefit of the community. This position requires 4-6 hours of pre-planning for each season of events.


Party Book Chair:

Love to plan parties while supporting the school, we need your support to continue this Kenter Tradition. Help recruit and support families by assisting with planning, promotion, and execution of Party Book events. This position requires 4-6 hours at the beginning of the school year to recruit & post parties. 1-2 hours per month is required after the first month of school. 


Safety and Traffic Chair: 

Work with HRPs to schedule class valet schedules, Coordinate Emergency preparedness kits at school, once per year.  Help promote a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff, and visitors within the Kenter community.  Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.  Lias with Brentwood HOA as needed. This requires less than 1-2 hours per week throughout the year or as requested support.


Star Nova Chair:

Works with Star NOVA team to promote and market after school Star Nova enrichment classes. This requires 1-2 hours during each enrichment school period, 1-3 per year.  Some time in person at the beginning of the school year may be needed.


Assembly Committee:

Work with the Assembly team to provide support for various school assemblies and our 2nd annual Entrepreneur Fair September/October 2024. This requires very limited planning during the year and 2-hours per week when an assembly is planned.


Campus Beautification + Staff Lounge Committee:

We are looking for interested people to collaborate and one leader to manage a Summer Campus Weekend Workday and any gardening/campus beautification needs. This requires 2-4 hours of planning and 6 hours onsite during July or August.


Book Fair Chair and Committee:

Handle the opening and closing of the book fair daily, securing volunteers via sign up genius to work shifts, organizing class visits, setting up and breaking down the book fair.  Work in collaboration with the Literacy Night planning team. This requires 5 hours of pre-planning and promotion work in January and early February. You must be available Thursday, February 20th & Friday, February 21st for Book Fair setup and readily available the entire week of the book fair (February 24th - February 28th). 


Howl-o-ween Event Chairs:

Seeking exceptional individuals to lead Kenter's annual Fall extravaganza! As the chairperson or co-chairs, you'll have the support of our dedicated Fundraising and Events team to craft an unforgettable evening for the  community.  This requires 2-4 hours per week for the months of September & October.
